South University has an excellent academic program great faculty and staff. When I see negative post's it reflects difficulties students face at other schools. As a student I have seen SU work to resolve student issues. One reason I choose South University.
This university has a high success rate of passing, which is a plus when considering a school.
If you have attended VCU you will appreciate South even more. No daily robberies on campus, no 250 student classrooms, no charge for parking. SU does have: teachers focused on students, better lab equipment, real world application learning.
DO NOT GO TO SCHOOL HERE! It is a trap, I took a total of 6 classes and I owe a total of $10,200. I tried transferring to another school, and they wont even give me my transcripts! I was told that I had to pay that full amount in order to get MY transcripts. Some schools don't even take the credits from this school. You pay all this money, they don't have enough parking, teachers, and you get in trouble for bring drinks in the classrooms. This is school is a joke, and a waste of time and MONEY! Just think, even If you graduate from here with a BS, you can't go anywhere else to get your masters until you pay off the balance. I'm not even going to give this school ONE star, because they have officially ruined my life. SO congrats, to SOUTH for achieving nothing.
I am currently a PTA student and absolutely love it here. After going to MCI for nursing a few years ago and having such a bad experience (they weren't even accredited and teachers didn't seem to care about your well being and success), South has been such a breath of fresh air. They are accredited by CAPTE, every professor has received their Doctorate, and they truly and whole heartedly care about your success and well being. They strive to help you in any way, and they are so fun, outgoing, and interactive. Dr. Chamberlain and Dr. Bailey are AWESOME! I am in love with this school and program and I highly recommend it to anyone!
It's quite pricey which I've found that schools of convenience seem to cost more than traditional universities.
The staff are friendly.
Parking isn't the best but the classes are small and more personable than at a large university.
